The Giant’s Causeway is a World Heritage Site and basically a lot of volcanic rocks in cool formations. Mostly like pipes, some are seen from the side (all the columns) whilst others are seen from the top (all the hexagons).
It was the purpose of the trip, what I really wanted to see. I’ll be honest – at first I was a little underwhelmed but the longer we stayed there, the more I took it in and the more in awe I was. Nature is fcking awesome. Sitting a while on a natural rock armchair, waiting for D to traverse them and strike a pose, and listening to the waves crash it hit me. I was so relaxed. So caught up in nothing. So at peace. I could have stayed there for hours. At least until the rain hit a few minutes later. We spent more than an hour at the Causeway and I could have stayed a while longer. It's a special spot. Not an instant wow but still very very cool.
Needless to say, there are plenty of pictures. They don’t do it justice but they do make me smile for the memories of it all.
(Also – if you’re bin Melbourne, totally go and check out Organ Pipes National park to see the same natural affect. Sure, there’s no waves but still very cool).
